About the event
SOME FOLKS DREAM OF THE WONDERS THEY'LL DO...
Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s multi award-winning show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has been performed hundreds of thousands of times including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway, international tours in over 80 countries worldwide and has become one of the world’s most beloved family musicals.
Joseph is an extremely energy-driven show. Don’t be afraid to throw all your energy into your audition, you can’t go too far! Many voices and movements are necessary for the creative team to make casting and callback decisions, so make sure you commit to everything you do during your audition. There will be no spoken audition, only singing and dancing will be required.
When you’re singing, whether it be for your initial audition or for callbacks, the most important thing to keep in mind is that acting and intentions are everything. It’s not about how you sound, it’s about why you’re singing, what you’re singing for and what you’re trying to accomplish through the music. This entire show is nothing but singing and can only be believable because of the actor’s heightened emotion.
